Brazil has an internationally recognized organization dedicated to strategic studies in science, technology and innovation.
The Brazilian Center for Strategic Studies and Management in Science, Technology and Innovation (CGEE), located in Brasilia, is a think tank created in 2001 and supervised by the country´s Ministry of Science and Technology. Its mission is “to render science, technology and innovation as Brazilian´s best allies for economic growth, competitiveness and well-being”.
The creation and consolidation of CGEE shows that the Brazilian society is well aware of the need to develop systematic efforts of foresight and strategic planning towards structuring a broad spectrum policy of science, technology and innovation to help the country face emergent challenges and opportunities.
